Buda Veterans Honored with Colorful Handmade Quilts

On April 1, veterans at the Buda Oaks assisted living and memory care community received a meaningful gift from Quilts of Valor. The organization awards handmade quilts to service members or veterans who have been touched by war. The quilt is just one small way to say thank you for their service and sacrifice in serving our nation.

Resident Rita W. reached out to the organization about having some quilts made for the heroes at Buda Oaks.

“We’re honored to say that we have 14 veterans who call our community home”, shares Gena Gonzales, Activities Director at Buda Oaks.

“Quilts of Valor did a beautiful job on these quilts for our veterans. We all just LOVE them. Thank you for honoring our heroes and thinking of our vets! Thank you, Debbie, for presenting them to our well-deserved veterans at Buda Oaks!”

Buda Oaks takes pride in celebrating residents’ stories and is especially proud of its veterans.
